The President of SOS Polygraph Services is also the former President of the American Polygraph Association. He is also licensed to conduct polygraph exams in Alabama, South Carolina, and Tennessee. We have provided expert testimony regarding polygraph and/or interview techniques in Georgia, Alabama, Tennessee, and West Virginia.


Our examiners are also involved in research regarding the use of polygraphs with sex offenders who are on probation. Some of our examiners were involved in a major study that resulted in the use of polygraphs being introduced into Great Britain.

Our head examiner is Daniel E. Sosnowski, a professionally licensed examiner in the states of Alabama, South Carolina, and Tennessee. He has extensive experience in the polygraph field. 


SOS Polygraph Services, Inc. was established in 1992 in order to provide professionally administered polygraph examinations to a wide range of individuals. One of the primary goals of SOS Polygraph Services is to provide polygraph exams with respect and dignity to all, regardless of the allegation. Unfortunately, not all polygraph examinations are administered with the goal of finding the truth. The owner and founder of SOS Polygraph Services, Inc., Daniel Sosnowski, has been conducting polygraph examinations for 30 years and has conducted over 15,000 polygraph examinations. The polygraph examinations administered by Dan range in scope and cover nearly every type of polygraph issue. He has conducted polygraph exams internationally as well as in the United States.


Dan is currently the President of the American Polygraph Association, having been the first president elected by polygraph members using a universal ballot system. The American Polygraph Association was established in 1966 and has nearly 3,000 members from over 30 countries. He has served on the Board of Directors of the American Polygraph Association for 10 years and has served as the General Chair for a number of committees that address a variety of polygraph issues for the members of the association.


Mr. Sosnowski is recognized and considered to be one of the leading polygraph experts in the United States due to his diverse background and experience conducting and teaching polygraphs. He has been a school director at two different polygraph schools and has taught polygraph to many students from all over the world. He is a frequent polygraph lecturer at various polygraph associations throughout the United States.


He was a Selected Subject Matter Expert-Polygraph Instructor in Baghdad, Iraq, providing polygraph instruction to intelligence officers on behalf of the US Government from June to November 2008. Dan and his company have been involved in a number of polygraph research projects in the United States, the United Kingdom, and Holland. These research projects and studies have been published in the Polygraph Journal, Sexual Abuse: A Journal of Research and Treatment, the International Journal of Offender Therapy and Comparative Criminology, and the Journal of Sexual Aggression.


He has also co-authored a chapter dealing with polygraphs in a recently published book, The Use of the Polygraph in Assessing, Treating, and Supervising Sex Offenders: A Practitioner's Guide. Dan was also the lead polygraph examiner for a project assessing the use of polygraphs with individuals on probation for issues dealing with domestic violence; Testing and evaluation of the use of polygraphs to combat violence against women. Grant No. 2005-WG-BX-0010 awarded by the National Institute of Justice, Office of Justice Programs, U.S. Department of Justice.


Mr. Sosnowski has served on the American Polygraph Association's Post-Conviction Sex Offender Testing Committee since 1998. He is considered to be one of the leading authorities in the world that deals with the use of polygraphs with sex offenders. In 1999, Dan received the Al and Dorothea Clinchard award from the American Polygraph Association for his work on the PCSOT Committee. He also received the Leonarde Keeler Award in 2002 for his ongoing dedication to the polygraph profession.


Dan is a PCSOT-qualified polygraph examiner and has trained well over 100 polygraph examiners to become qualified to conduct these highly specialized polygraph examinations. He conducted the very first polygraph exams with sex offenders in the United Kingdom. The information learned from administering polygraph exams to individuals on probation led to the first research polygraph projects conducted by the Home Office in the United Kingdom. Dan was the director and primary polygraph instructor for the first ever polygraph school conducted at the University of Newcastle. Dan was bestowed a Senior Research Fellow in Forensic Psychology at the University of Birmingham, United Kingdom.


Mr. Sosnowski is currently a director of NADAC, which is Britain's largest polygraph company. He is also on the Board of Directors for the British European Polygraph Association. Dan is a senior instructor for the Practical Kinesic Interview and Interrogation course and has been teaching this highly specialized skill for 20 years. He has taught over 1,000 police officers throughout the United States. He is also an approved instructor for the Lafayette Instrument Company, teaching computerized polygraph instruction. He has testified on polygraph techniques as well as interview and interrogation techniques in federal, state, and local courts and has been accepted as an expert witness in these areas.
